59th Annual Grammy Awards 2017

The 59th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony was held on February 12 2017. The CBS network broadcast the show live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The ceremony recognized the best recordings, compositions, and artists of the eligibility year, which runs from October 1, 2015 to September 30, 2016. The nominations were announced on December 6 2016.

James Corden hosted the ceremony, his first time hosting it. The "pre-telecast" ceremony (officially named The Premiere Ceremony) was held on the same day prior to the main ceremony and was hosted by comedienne Margaret Cho.

Adele and Beyoncé each stole the show in their own unique way.

For the second time, Adele took home three of the big four Grammy awards: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year.

43th Annual People's Choice Awards 2017

The 43rd People's Choice Awards, honoring the best in popular culture for 2016, will be held on January 18, 2017, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California, and will be broadcast live on CBS.

On November 15, 2016, the nominees were announced. The movie Captain America: Civil War received the most nominations of the year with seven. The TV series Grey’s Anatomy and actor Kevin Hart each received five nominations and Zootopia received four nominations.

74th Golden Globe Awards

The 74th Golden Globe Awards honored the best in film and American television of 2016 and was broadcast live on January 8 2017 from The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California 5:00 p.m. PST / 8:00 p.m. EST by NBC. The ceremony was produced by Dick Clark Productions in association with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

Actor and talk-show host Jimmy Fallon was announced as the host of the ceremony on August 2, 2016. Meryl Streep was announced as the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award honoree on November 3, 2016. The nominations were announced on December 12, 2016, by Don Cheadle, Laura Dern, and Anna Kendrick.

La La Land won all seven awards for which it had been nominated, becoming the most successful film in Golden Globe Awards history and seventh overall to win each award, including Best Director, Best Screenplay for Damien Chazelle and Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy. The only other film to win more than one award was Elle, which won both the awards for which it had been nominated. The Night Manager, Atlanta, The Crown and The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story were among the television shows that received multiple awards.
